Sale of knives and controlled items - Queensland

Description

New laws will came into effect in Queensland on 1 September 2024, banning the sale of knives and particular controlled items to minors.

Retailers are required to securely store particular controlled items such as double-edged knives, machetes, tomahawks and axes and must display signage regarding age-restricted items. In addition, any advertising of knives or controlled items that suggests them 'suitable for combat' is prohibited.
