Subagent registration - Queensland

Description

You must register if you intend to work as a subagent for a debt collection field agent. The registration lets you perform tasks on behalf of your employer.

Once you register, you will be able to act on behalf of a licensed field agent to:

  • find and recover goods
  • collect debts
  • serve documents.

You must not operate a trust account.

Alternatively, you can work as a collection agent without a licence if you only:

  • collect debts (and do not repossess goods or do process serving)
  • contact debtors over the phone or in writing
  • perform evictions or vacant repossessions of real property.
