Description

You will need this licence if you supply, on a temporary basis, blank firearms, rendered inoperable or replica weapons used in theatrical, film or television production.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible, you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • reside only in Queensland
  • be a fit and proper person with specific reference to mental state, misuse of drugs and / or firearms and offences involving violence or threatened violence
  • have a registered business providing details of the enterprise (e.g. sole proprietor, partnership or company)
  • provide a company extract detailing office holders of the company
  • provide a business plan including details of intended client/market base
  • provide a copy of a Statement of Attainment certifying completion of the approved safety course for the categories of weapons applied for
  • provide evidence of your involvement in film, television or theatrical production industries and experience in the use of weapons within this industry
  • provide understanding of the legislation as it affects a licensed Theatrical Ordnance Supplier
  • have a purpose-built safe and secure premises in compliance with Regulations
  • provide written approval from local council authority.

Transfer process

Transfer

You can transfer this licence. In the case where you sell the business, the licence may be transferred to the new proprietor if they are a fit and proper person and they comply with the appropriate Section of the Act. The purchaser must be a person to whom the licence would have been issued. All information required for the original application must be submitted.
