Tree and vegetation approval - Rockhampton Regional Council - Queensland

Description

You will need this approval if you intend to clear or work near protected trees and vegetation on private property. Protected vegetation includes trees and vegetation which are native to Australia.

Your local council may have specific restrictions on interference with significant trees, which includes undertaking works nearby. Significant trees might have cultural, historical or horticultural significance, have large trunk diameter or form part of a canopy.

You will require a state government clearing permit if you intend to clear or work near:

  • protected trees and vegetation on public property
  • remnant vegetation from a private property (remnant vegetation refers to areas of intact or untouched native vegetation or bushland).

All marine plants, such as mangroves, are protected under state legislation.
