You will need this registration if you intend to undertake valuation work. Valuations are the process of inspecting a property, ascertaining legal ownership and the interest held, and gathering relevant information such as the price that similar properties sell for. There are two types of valuation licence that you can register for:
- valuer registration (standard entry)
- specialist retail valuer listing.
You can also apply to be a specialist retail valuer, which enables you to conduct formal rental determinations, where a landlord and tenant cannot agree on current market rent for a retail shop.
