Wagering key person licence - Queensland

Description

You will need this licence if you're a key employee of an organisation licensed to conduct wagering in Queensland. A key employee is someone who does any of the following:

  • occupies or acts in a managerial position or carries out managerial functions in relation to any operations conducted under the relevant wagering authority
  • can affect or significantly influence any operations
  • occupies or acts in a position designated in the wagering authority's control system as a key position.

Eligibility requirements

To apply for a wagering key person licence, you must:

  • be 18 years or over
  • attach a Letter of intent of employment from the authorised operator, stating they intend to employ you as a wagering key person or you will carry out the duties of a wagering key person
  • agree to have your fingerprints taken - we will contact you to arrange a suitable time and place.

Duration

A wagering key person licence expires 1 year after you cease employment.

Application process

You can apply online or complete and post us the Application for liquor and gaming individual employees (Form 82).

You must provide 2 identical, colour passport-size photos of yourself with your completed application. The photos must meet the following requirements:

  • They must not be more than 6 months old
  • They must be taken against a plain, light-coloured background (e.g. cream, pale blue or white)
  • They must be approximately 35mm wide x 45mm high (passport size)
  • They must display a full view of head and shoulders without any head-covering, if you wear a head-covering for religious reasons, we will accept a photo of you wearing it, but your facial features must be clearly shown
  • If you normally wear glasses, you should do so in the photo; however, tinted glasses are not acceptable.

Photos can be emailed, but you can't post us scanned copies.

Transfer

This licence cannot be transferred.
