Application process

Apply

If you are applying for a commercial water meter connection, you may be required to provide hydraulic plans with your application.

For commercial properties intending to connect a water meter, you may need to supply the relevant Operational Works (OPW) or Reconfigure a Lot (RAL) approvals.

Step 1: Identify the right application for your needs

There are three different applications:

  • Works request: For works involving small modifications to infrastructure in order to accommodate a new driveway, retaining wall, landscaping or fence within your property
  • Standard connections: For works involving building a new dwelling, subdividing one lot into two or three lots, merging up to three residential lots, building up to six dwellings on a single lot or building a self-contained dwelling on a lot
  • Non-standard connection: For works more complex in nature which do not fit into either of the above categories
Step 2: Make sure you have all your information ready

Before submitting your Water Approval application, you will need to have the following information ready:

  • Development intention or council Development Approval - the details of the development you are proposing within your lot is important to our assessment.
  • Type of connection - property service connection or network connection.
  • Property Owner/s Consent form - if you are not the land owner.
  • Property Information form - used to detail property information and calculate infrastructure charges.
  • Preliminary design - required to indicate the water supply and wastewater servicing strategy for the proposed development. You may choose to engage an engineer to complete preliminary designs.
Step 3: Submit and pay any associated application fee.
