Approval to Conduct an Arms Fair - Queensland


You require this approval to conduct an arms fair.

You do not require licensing or registration for antique firearms. However, should you acquire a firearm/weapon you must possess a permit to acquire unless otherwise authorised.

This approval remains in effect for the term stated on the approval.

Additional Information

You are required to register antique handguns. Refer to section 49(3) of the Weapons Act 1990.

Section 68F of the Weapons Regulation 1996 relates to the Notice of Acquisition of antique handgun for registration:

A person who acquires an antique handgun must, by written notice given within 14 days after acquiring the antique handgun, provide the following information to the Commissioner:

  1. the name and address of the person;
  2. the type, make, calibre, action, magazine capacity and any serial number of the antique handgun;
  3. the place where the antique handgun is generally kept.
