Gaming nominee - Queensland

Description

A gaming nominee is an employee performing a managerial role at a venue and is responsible for the conduct of gaming on a particular gaming site. The Gaming Machine Regulation 2002 prescribes the gaming duties and gaming tasks to be carried out for a licensee.

A gaming nominee licence can only be granted if you have been appointed to the position by your employer. You can only work at one gaming site as a gaming nominee.

Eligibility requirements

If you are applying for a gaming nominee licence you must:

  • be 18 years of age and over to apply for this licence.
  • complete the approved responsible service of gambling (RSG) training course. You have 3 months from the date of starting employment to obtain your approved RSG course certificate.
  • complete the mandatory gaming nominee training. You must provide your gaming nominee training certificate of attendance at the time of lodging your application.

Application process

If you are a new gaming nominee, you must submit the following to the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR):

You must provide two (2) identical colour passport-size photos of yourself with your completed application that meet the following requirements:

  • Photos must not be more than six (6) months old.
  • Photos must be against a plain light coloured background (e.g. cream, pale blue or white).
  • Photos must be approximately 35mm wide x 45mm high (passport size).
  • Photo must display a full view of head and shoulders without any head-covering. If you wear a head-covering for religious reasons we will accept a photo of you wearing it; however, your facial features must be clearly shown.
  • If you normally wear glasses, you should do so in the photo; however, tinted glasses are not acceptable.

Photos can be sent by email, but if you are sending your photos by post you cannot send scanned copies.

  • Gaming nominee course certificate.
