Lottery key person licence - Queensland

Description

You will need this licence if you are a key employee of an organisation licensed to conduct lotteries throughout Queensland. A key employee is a person who does any of the following:

  • occupies or acts in a managerial position or carries out managerial functions in relation to the primary licensee's operations
  • can affect or significantly influence the operations conducted under the primary licence
  • works for a lottery operator in a position designated as a key position.

Eligibility requirements

To apply for a lottery key person licence, you must:

  • be 18 or over
  • send a letter from a primary licensee to the Executive Director, Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR) stating they intend to employ you as a key employee subject to you being issued with a key person licence
  • agree to have your fingerprints taken - you will be contacted by OLGR during the application process to arrange a suitable time and place.

Duration

A lottery key person licence is valid from the date of issue until one year after you cease employment as a key employee.

Application process

You can apply online or using hard copy Form 82.

The online form gives you 24-hour access to upload the required documents and pay the prescribed fees. Otherwise, you can mail the hard copy Form 82 to OLGR.

You must provide 2 identical, colour, passport-size photos of yourself with your completed application. The photos must meet the following requirements:

  • They must not be more than 6 months old.
  • They must be taken against a plain, light-coloured background (e.g. cream, pale blue or white).
  • They must be approximately 35mm wide x 45mm high (passport size).
  • They must display a full view of head and shoulders without any head-covering - if you wear a head-covering for religious reasons, we will accept a photo of you wearing it, but your facial features must be clearly shown.
  •  If you normally wear glasses, you should wear them in the photo; however, tinted glasses are not acceptable.

Photos can be submitted by email, but, if you are sending them by post, you cannot send scanned photos.

Transfer

This licence cannot be transferred.
