Radiation safety officer certificate - Queensland

Description

Whenever a radiation practice is being carried out all possession licensees must ensure that a person has been appointed as, and is carrying out the functions of, a radiation safety officer for the practice. This person must hold a Radiation Safety Officer Certificate.

Further, a person who holds a Radiation Safety Officer Certificate may be a radiation safety officer for a number of possession licensees.

In circumstances where the possession licensee is an individual, and where the individual holds a qualification specified in Schedule 5 of the Radiation Safety Regulation 2010, the licensee may appoint him or herself as the radiation safety officer without obtaining a Radiation Safety Officer Certificate.
