Wagering key person licence - Queensland

Description

You will need this licence if you are a key employee of an organisation licensed to conduct wagering in Queensland. A key employee is a person who does any of the following:

  • occupies or acts in a managerial position or carries out managerial functions in relation to any operations conducted under the relevant wagering authority
  • is able to affect or significantly influence any operations
  • occupies or acts in a position designated in the authority operator's control system as a key position.

Eligibility requirements

If you are applying for a wagering key person licence, you must:

  • be 18 years and over
  • supply a letter of intent of employment from the authority operator addressed to the Executive Director, Office of Liquor and Gaming (OLGR) stating they intend to employ you as a key person or that you are to carry out the duties of a key person
  • agree to have your fingerprints taken - you will be contacted by OLGR during the application process to arrange a suitable time and place.

Duration

A wagering key person licence is valid for an indefinite period from the date of issue. However, it expires one year after notification of cessation of employment.

You can apply either with the online form or with Form 82.

The online form gives you 24 hour access to upload the required documentation and pay the prescribed fees. Otherwise, you can complete form 82 and mail it to OLGR.

You must provide two (2) identical colour passport-size photos of yourself with your completed application which meet the following requirements:

  • Photos must not be more than six (6) months old.
  • Photos must be against a plain light coloured background (e.g. cream, pale blue or white).
  • Photos must be approximately 35mm wide x 45mm high (passport size).
  • Photos must display a full view of head and shoulders without any head-covering. If you wear a head-covering for religious reasons, we will accept a photo of you wearing it, but your facial features must be clearly shown.
  • If you normally wear glasses, you should do so in the photo; however, tinted glasses are not acceptable.

Photos can be submitted by email, but if you are sending your photos by post, you cannot send scanned copies.

Transfer

This licence cannot be transferred.
