Wine nominee - Queensland

Description

A wine nominee is an individual responsible for premises covered by a wine licence. The wine nominee is responsible for ensuring that wine is sold on the licensed premise only.

A wine nominee is required if the licensee:

  • consists of more than one person (partnership or corporation)
  • is licensee at more than one premise.

Premises covered by a wine producer licence may have more than one nominee approved at any one time.

When a nominee leaves a vineyard or winery, the licensee must appoint a new nominee.

Must Have

To apply for a new wine nominee the licensee must hold either a wine producer licence or a wine merchant licence.

Duration

Valid for the duration a wine nominee remains employed at the premises as an approved wine nominee. Note: Wine nominees do not receive photo identification cards.

All fees are indexed annually. Annual fees are payable by 31 July each year.

The OLGR credit card payment authority form can be used for credit card payments of all OLGR fees.

OLGR will not accept credit card details by fax or email, including PDF attachments. If an email is received with credit card details, it will be deleted immediately and your form will not be processed. This is in accordance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard.

Application process

You must submit the following to the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR):

Form 4: Application for acceptance of new nominee/s and all associated paperwork.

It is important to lodge your application as soon as possible as it may take 4-6 weeks to obtain sufficient information to establish whether a new nominee is suitable to hold a licence.

Note: Approvals of new nominees will depend on the outcome of a criminal history check.

Renew

Once your licence is granted you can pay your annual fees and manage your details using OLGR's client portal.

Vary

To change wine nominees, complete Form 4: Application for acceptance of new nominee/s (refer to Part E).

Note: The outgoing nominee should remain in control of the premises until the new nominee is approved, although this may not always be possible.

To add an additional nominee, complete Form 4: Application for acceptance of new nominee/s (refer to Part F).
