A wine permit can be issued to licensees who hold a licence under the Queensland Wine Industry Act to allow the sale of licensees' wine for one-off events (e.g. festivals, trade shows, conventions) at locations other than the main licensed premises.
Wine permits can be issued for unlicensed venues (e.g. a booth at a carnival) or for venues licensed under the Liquor Act 1992 (e.g. a convention centre).
A wine permit can be issued to:
-
an individual licensee
-
a group of licensees wishing to operate from the same area at the same event (e.g. operating a Queensland wine booth at a major festival).
Note:
If you hold a wine merchant licence 'Licensee's wine' means wine made only from fruit grown by the licensee on the licensee's licensed premises.
If you hold a Wine producer licence 'Licensee's wine' means wine of which at least 85% is made of fruit grown by the licensee on the licensee's licensed premises; or 85% is made by the licensee on the licensee's licensed premises.
