Aboriginal Heritage Authorisation - South Australia

Description

You will need this authorisation if you intend to:

  • excavate land for the purpose of uncovering any Aboriginal site, object or remains
  • damage, disturb or interfere with any Aboriginal site, object or remains
  • sell or dispose of an Aboriginal object
  • remove an Aboriginal object from the State.

You may also need a local heritage agreement before you make your application for authorisation. Local heritage agreements are negotiated with recognised Aboriginal representative body (RARB) and govern the interference with Aboriginal sites, objects or remains.
