You will need this authorisation to:
- excavate land for the purpose of uncovering any Aboriginal site, object or remains
- damage, disturb or interfere with any Aboriginal site, object or remains
- sell or dispose of an Aboriginal object
- remove an Aboriginal object from the State.
You may need a local heritage agreement before you make your application for authorisation. Local heritage agreements are agreements between an entity that intends to interfere with an Aboriginal site, object or remains and a recognised Aboriginal representative body (RARB) regarding the entity's intended activities. RARBs consult with and represent the view of the Traditional Owners of heritage that is under threat of impact.
