You will need this registration if you wish to practise as a registered agent.

A registered agent is a person who is entitled to represent a party in proceedings before the South Australian Employment Tribunal.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for registration, you must:

  • have relevant qualifications
  • have extensive experience in industrial relations
  • have a high level of written and oral communication skills
  • have a sound understanding of the human, social and political factors which influence industrial relations
  • have experience in undertaking negotiations in the industrial relations field
  • have experience appearing as an advocate before industrial authorities
  • have experience in the interpretation and implementation of awards, industrial agreements and industrial relations policies
  • have reasonable knowledge of the legislative framework within which industrial relations operate.

Application process


You must complete the application and submit it to the agency. You must attach to your application 2 references, documentation relating to your qualifications or experience, and a statutory declaration. Within three days of submission, you must publish a notice of your application.


Registration is not transferable.
