Dangerous Goods Driver Licence - South Australia


You will require this licence if you intend to transport:

  • dangerous goods in a receptacle with a capacity of more than 500 litres
  • more than 500 kilograms of dangerous goods in a receptacle.

To apply for this licence you must:

  • be at least 18 years of age
  • hold an unconditional driver's licence
  • be a resident of South Australia
  • have a medical conducted.

Application process


Before you complete your application you will be required to complete and provide the following:

  • certificate of medical fitness
  • a certified copy from the relevant register of driver licences for all States or Territories you hold driver's licence
  • a certified copy of an official record showing whether you have been convicted of any driving offence for each State or Territory
  • a certificate showing your completion of the approved training course
  • one colour passport quality photo taken within the previous six months.
