Associated Activities Licence - South Australia


You will need an associated activities licence (AAL) if you intend to conduct associated activities or operate associated facilities on land outside the area of the primary licence. An associated activity or facility is anything that is reasonably necessary for, or incidental to, carrying on regulated activities in the area of, or the vicinity of, the primary licence area.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.


An associated activities licence is valid for the same amount of time as the primary licence.

Additional information

An application for a licence must be addressed to the Minster for Energy and Mining and needs to include the following:

  • a description of the area or route to which the application relates in a form determine or approved by the Minister
  • a map indicating the area or route to which the application relates
  • a copy of the applicant most recent audited annual financial statements
  • a statement of the technical qualifications and experience of the applicant
  • if the application is being made by more than one person, than information on the interest that each person will have in the licence needs to be provided.
