Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code - South Australia

Description

You will need to comply with this Code if you intend to conduct a food business or sell food.

The Code contains general requirements for food sold in Australia, such as labelling and safety and prescriptive standards, including compositional requirements for specific foods. It also contains food safety requirements for food handlers, including training, temperature controls and cleaning and sanitising, and specific standards for primary production and processing.

Detailed requirements in the Code include:

  • food labelling and advertising
  • date marking
  • permissible food additives
  • preservatives
  • colouring
  • flavourings and flavour enhancers
  • artificial sweetening substances
  • vitamins and minerals.
