You will need to comply with this standard if you intend to produce or transport meat or meat products for human consumption.
This standard sets out requirements for the safe and hygienic production and transportation of meat and meat products for human consumption. The object of this standard is to make provisions for:
- accurate identification, traceability and effective recall of meat and meat products
- animal welfare and the receipt and slaughter of animals and dressing of carcasses
- processing, packaging, handling and storage of meat or meat products
- construction of premises and transportation of meat and meat products.
