A Basic Fauna Dealers Permit entitles the holder to trade in the species on the Basic Species List after they have held the animal for 7 days; if they wish to trade before they have held the animal for 7 days they must obtain a clearance from the Fauna Permit Unit to sell it sooner.
A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.
Applicants must also obtain a Basic Permit to Keep/Sell Protected Animals.
Permits expire on 30 June annually.
2019-2020 fees:$750 Permit fee$375 Permit fee - half year for applications lodged between 1 January to 30 June$226 each additional premises.
