Blue Crab Fishery Licence - South Australia


This licence permits the taking of blue swimmer crabs using crab pots.

Fishery licences are issued for the term of the management plan. The current management plan began on 1 January 2018 and will expire in 2022.

Licences are only available by transfer from an existing licence holder.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

Applicants can either be a natural person (a minimum of 15 years of age) or a proprietary or public company, be nominated by an existing licence holder and have not within three years of the date of application been convicted in the State or elsewhere in Australia of an offence involving a breach of any legislation relating to fishing. Individual transferable quotas apply in each zone.
