You will need this licence to operate as a bookmaker. Bookmakers are authorised to conduct fixed-odds betting on:

  • races held by licensed racing clubs
  • approved contingencies, meaning approved betting events.

Application process


If you have not previously been approved as a bookmaker, you will need to:

  • lodge a fingerprinting form with your application
  • attend an interview as part of the application process.

After meeting these obligations, you will need to lodge a bond or other security with the agency.

Lodgement process


You will need to lodge with your completed application:

  • two current passport size photos
  • a personal Information declaration
  • a deed of undertaking
  • fee payment.


This licence may be transferred.
