Busking Permit - City of Charles Sturt - South Australia

Description

You will need a permit or special approval to undertake the following busking activities:

  • performing using knives, fire or other hazardous substances
  • performing for long periods of time
  • selling or street trading
  • artists selling pre-fabricated work
  • performing permanent artworks or putting permanent installations in place
  • touting, spruiking or advertising
  • political rallying
  • religious preaching and promotions
  • fortune telling
  • massage, chiropractic treatment or other physical manipulation
  • face or body painting
  • temporary tattoo applications including henna
  • fundraising on behalf of a charity, cause or organisation
  • commercial promotions.

A permit is not required for the following activities:

  • performing with an instrument or multiple instruments, noise levels sensitive to the enjoyment of the area
  • performing a song, dance routine, mime, clowning, juggling, puppetry, comedy, magic or living statue act
  • actively working in an artistic medium such as temporary painting, portraiture or chalk art.
