Children's Residential Facility Licence - South Australia


You will need this licence to operate a children's residential care facility. A children's residential care facility is a place where children or young people are cared for on a residential basis, away from their parents, by a paid approved carer.

This licence does not apply to residential premises that are attached to schools or used exclusively for the purpose of caring for students.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you must complete a psychological assessment. All staff working in the facility must also complete a psychological assessment as soon as reasonably practicable after commencing their employment.
