Description

You will need this licence if you intend to operate a children's residential care facility. A children's residential care facility is a place where children or young people are cared for on a residential basis, away from their parents, by a paid approved carer.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you must complete a psychological assessment. All staff working in the facility must also complete a psychological assessment as soon as reasonably practicable after commencing their employment.

You will also need to provide evidence of:

  • appropriate insurance
  • appropriate policies and statement of philosophy
  • compliance with working with children check requirements.
