Dangerous Goods Vehicle Licence - South Australia

Description

You may need this licence if you intend to transport dangerous goods by vehicle in a receptacle with either:

  • a capacity of more than 500 litres
  • a capacity of more than 500 kilograms.

If dangerous goods are being transported by a combination vehicle, each unit requires a licence if transporting a licensable amount.

Eligibility requirements

Before you start your application, please note:

  • if it is a tank vehicle, you will need to provide a clear photo of the compliance plate
  • to drive the vehicle, you must hold a licence to transport dangerous goods
  • the vehicle must be covered by a policy of insurance that indemnifies the vehicle for the carriage of dangerous goods with a minimum of $5,000,000 cover for clean-up and emergency services costs.
