Demolition Work Notification - South Australia

Description

You will need to notify the agency prior to commencing notifiable demolition work. Notifiable demolition work includes:

  • demolition of a structure, or part of a structure, that is load-bearing or otherwise related to the physical integrity of the structure, that is at least six metres in height
  • demolition work involving load shifting machinery on a suspended floor
  • demolition work involving explosives.

Notice must be submitted at least five days before work commences. The notification can be submitted online through the SafeWork SA Notifications Portal.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible to carry out demolition work, you must hold a South Australian contractor’s licence issued by Consumer and Business Services for the type of demolition being undertaken. 

Depending on the type of demolition work, you may need to submit a proposed demolition work plan submitted to SafeWork SA.
