Event Permit - South Australia

Description

You will need a permit if you intend to hold an event in a national park or reserve.

You will be authorised under this permit to conduct certain events in a national park or reserve, including:

  • surfing, fishing and boating competitions
  • bike or car races
  • entertainment, education or product demonstrations
  • fundraising activities.

You may apply for 2 types of permit:

  • a single event permit to hold a one-off event in a national park or reserve in the space of 1 year
  • a multiple event permit to hold events in national parks and reserves on a regular basis over the space of 1 year.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit you must hold public liability insurance cover.

Duration

A permit lasts for the duration of the event or events (one year if multiple event permit).

Application process

Lodge

You will need to lodge your completed application with:

  • a copy of your public liability insurance certificate
  • a detailed event map and / or plan in the case of an application for a single event permit
  • an even schedule in the case of an application for a multiple event permit.

Transfer

This permit cannot be transferred .

Additional information

You will need to lodge your application least 60 days before the event. If you hold the event in a park co-managed by the agency and Aboriginal groups, you will need to lodge your application at least 90 days before the event.

Special guidelines apply to events held in the Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park.
