Gas Retailing Licence - South Australia

Description

You may need this licence if you intend to retail liquid petroleum gas (LPG). Retailing is the sale and supply of gas to a person for consumption via a gas distribution system.

If you intend to operate in the national gas market, a separate retail authorisation or exemption is required.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you must:

  • be a suitable person to hold the licence
  • be able to meet reasonably foreseeable obligations under contracts for the sale of case
  • comply with any other conditions prescribed by the regulations.

You will also need to demonstrate one of the following financial requirements:

  • you have a long term credit rating of BBB or greater with Standard and Poor's or Moody's
  • you are registered as a Market Participant by Australian Energy Market Operator
  • you have operated as a licensee and held a retail licence in another jurisdiction for at least 2 years.
