General and Hotel Liquor Licence - South Australia

Description

You will need this licence to sell liquor for consumption on or off your premises.

Licence holders are authorised to sell liquor:

  • by direct sales transactions, such as online or by mail order
  • for consumption on the premises and to residents of the premises at any time
  • for consumption off the premises on any day between hours specified by you on application and subject to the conditions of your licence (these hours must not exceed 13 hours between 08:00 am and 10:00 pm on any day)
  • by direct sales transactions at any time on any day, but an order may only be delivered in South Australia between 08:00 am and 10:00 pm.

There are four optional additions to this licence:

  • notification to sell liquor from a bottle shop or drive-through premises
  • extension of trading area
  • consent to host prescribed entertainment at your venue
  • gaming machines (you will need to apply for gaming machine licence).

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible, you must:

  • provide a community impact submission
  • provide two floor plans of the venue
  • obtain permission from the landlord and the certificate of title
  • obtain a capacity assessment from the council, a private certifier and a registered architect.

You will also need to have persons within your business who hold a position of authority (director, manager, shareholder etc.) approved as part of your application.
