High Risk Manufactured Water System Registration - Adelaide Hills Council - South Australia

Description

You will need this registration if you own premises on which High Risk Manufactured Water Systems (HRMWS) are installed and operating. Each HRMWS must be separately registered.

High Risk Manufactured Water Systems include cooling water systems and warm water systems.

  • Cooling water systems are heat exchange systems that consists of a heat generating plant, a heat rejection plant, interconnecting water recirculating pipe work and associated pumps, valves and controls, and includes a cooling tower or evaporative condenser.
  • Warm water systems are reticulated water systems that distributes or recirculate warm water through the majority of its branches at a nominal temperature of 45 degrees Celsius by means of a temperature controlling device.

You must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A proposed alternative decontamination procedure that will effectively kill Legionella in the system
  • That a robust Legionella testing program will be implemented to ensure the efficacy if a proposed alternative decontamination procedure
  • That the system in question is being operated and maintained in full compliance with the Legionella Regulations
  • That the system in question has been assessed for risks associated with poor flow and stagnation and that modifications have been made to address any identified risks.
