Hydroponic Equipment Dealer's Licence - South Australia

Description

You will need this licence to sell prescribed hydroponic equipment by retail or wholesale. Hydroponic equipment means equipment that is used to grow plants without soil.

Prescribed hydroponic equipment means:

  • metal halide lights, high pressure sodium lights and mercury vapour lights over 400 watts
  • ballast boxes for use with metal halide, high pressure sodium or mercury vapour lights
  • devices including control gear, lamp mounts and reflectors designed to amplify light or heat and for use with metal halide, high pressure sodium or mercury vapour lights
  • carbon filters designed to filter air within a room, from one area of a building to another or from inside to outside
  • units designed to contain plants and rotate around a light source so that the plants grow hydroponically while being exposed to light or heat or both.

Employees who work in a business involved in the sale of prescribed hydroponics equipment will need separate approval.

To be eligible for this licence, you must:

  • complete a National Police Check
  • be a fit and proper person.

You will not be eligible for this licence if:

  • in the 5 years prior to your application for a licence, you have been found guilty of an offence prescribed by the Regulations
  • you are under a control order.
