You will need this licence to operate a supported residential facility. A supported residential facility is a premises at which residential accommodation and personal care services are provided, such as:

  • rest homes
  • boarding houses
  • hostels
  • retirement villages.

You will be required to submit your application with your local council. In addition to your application you may be required to submit the following information and documents:

  • a scaled plan showing the area and dimensions of the land distances of buildings from boundaries
  • a copy of the proposed prospectus, resident contract and service plans
  • example of relevant resident details
  • policy and process for notification of police, family, the coroner, staff and relevant caseworkers in the event of an accident, death or missing person.

A decision on approval of your application will be made within eight weeks of submitting your application.
