Description

You will need this licence if you intend to mix and use security sensitive ammonium nitrate (SSAN). SSAN is a blend of ammonium nitrate that contains greater than 45% ammonium nitrate.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you must:

  • hold a licence allowing you to acquire SSAN
  • be at least 18 years old
  • be a suitable person to hold the authority
  • have a genuine reason for carrying your intended activities
  • ensure you and your associate's character and reputation is suitable.

You will need a licence to store on premises or in a magazine if you intend to explosives are to be stored overnight.

Any person who will have unsupervised access to SSAN will need to undergo a security check and be listed on your security plan.
