Licence to Store Security Sensitive Ammonium Nitrate - South Australia

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to store Security Sensitive Ammonium Nitrate (SSAN) in bulk or in packages.

SSAN is ammonium nitrate, or any ammonium nitrate mixture containing greater than 45 percent ammonium nitrate. However, solutions which include ammonium nitrate are not required to be licensed for any purpose.

A licence for the storage of SSAN gives authorisation to store a particular type and quantity of SSAN at a specified location.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you and any person who will supervise or manage any authorised activities must:

  • 18 years or older
  • be a fit and proper person
  • have a genuine reason for carrying out the intended activities

You will need to nominate yourself as authorised personnel if you intend to have unsupervised access to SSAN. This will require you to undertake a National Police Check and Politically Motivated Violence clearance.
