Description

You will need this licence if you intend to use or dispose of Security Sensitive Ammonium Nitrate.

Security Sensitive Ammonium Nitrate (SSAN) is ammonium nitrate, or any ammonium nitrate mixture containing greater than 45 percent ammonium nitrate.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you and any person who will supervise or manage any authorised activities must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • be a suitable person to hold the licence
  • have a genuine reason for carrying out the intended activities
  • have a suitable character and reputation to hold the licence.

You will need to nominate yourself as an authorised person if you intend to have unsupervised access to SSAN. This will require you to undertake a National Police Check and Politically Motivated Violence clearance.
