You will need this licence if you intend to sell liquor produced by you for takeaway or consumption by persons, and liquor not produced by you for consumption by persons, by bulk or by wholesale to other liquor merchants.
You will be entitled to sell liquor you have produced alongside liquor you have not produced depending on whether your licence is a category 1, 2 or 3 licence.
A category 1 licence entitles you to sell liquor you have produced:
- for takeaway from your licensed premises
- by direct sales transactions, such as online or by mail order.
It also entitles you to sell liquor not produced by you only for the purpose of sampling and comparing to liquor you have produced.
A category 2 licence entitles you to sell liquor you have produced:
- for takeaway from your licensed premises
- for sample or consumption on your licensed premises
- by direct sales transactions, such as online or by mail order.
It also entitles you to sell liquor not produced by you to persons attending a function where food is provided, eating a meal while on your premises, or seated at a table.
A category 3 licence entitles you to sell liquor you have produced:
- for takeaway from your licensed premises
- for sample or consumption on your licensed premises
- by direct sales transactions, such as online or by mail order.
It will also entitle you to sell liquor not produced by you in bulk quantities of 4.5 litres or more, and by wholesale to other liquor merchants.
You may apply to operate a collective cellar door with other operators.
You may apply for event endorsement to sell or supply liquor at a low risk event, such as a local market, so long as the premises is not already licensed.
