You will need this licence if you intend to sell liquor you have produced alongside liquor you have not produced. There are three categories which allow licence holders to do different activities.
Category 1 licences allow you to sell liquor you have produced:
- for takeaway from your licensed premises
- by direct sales transactions, such as online or by mail order.
It also allows you to sell liquor not produced by you only for the purpose of sampling and comparing to liquor you have produced.
Category 2 licences allow you to sell liquor you have produced:
- for takeaway from your licensed premises
- for sample or consumption on your licensed premises
- by direct sales transactions, such as online or by mail order.
It also allows you to sell liquor not produced by you to persons attending a function where food is provided, eating a meal while on your premises, or seated at a table.
Category 3 licences allow you to sell liquor you have produced:
- for takeaway from your licensed premises
- for sample or consumption on your licensed premises
- by direct sales transactions, such as online or by mail order.
It will also allow you to sell liquor not produced by you in bulk quantities of 4.5 litres or more, and by wholesale to other liquor merchants.
There are four optional additions to this licence:
- operation of a collective outlet with other producers
- event endorsement to sell liquor at an unlicensed low risk event such as a local market
- extension of trading area
- consent to host prescribed entertainment at your venue.
