Major Bingo Licence - South Australia


A major bingo licence is required by Associations to conduct fundraiser bingo sessions. This covers the forms of the game known as Housie or Housie Housie, played by the method commonly known as 'eyes down'. A licence is required when the gross proceeds derived from a session exceed $500.

If the gross proceeds derived are less than $500 from a session no licence is required. However, the lottery must be conducted in accordance with the minor bingo lottery conditions.

Eligibility requirements

Only constituted associations can conduct fundraiser bingo sessions. A bingo session may only be conducted to raise funds for an approved purpose.

$9.35 application fee.

Additional information

If an association is applying for a new major bingo licence, they must provide a copy of the association's constitution, names and addresses of the management committee and the number of current financial members.
If the association is renewing their major bingo licence, the renewal application should be forwarded together with any outstanding financial statements.
