Marine Parks Permit - South Australia

Description

You will need this permit to undertake a prohibited activity in a marine park. This may include:

  • commercial tour operation
  • commercial film making, photography and sound recording
  • water sport events or competitions
  • scientific research
  • installation of moorings.

This permit relates to use of a marine park only. You will need to obtain any other authorisations necessary to conduct the activity itself. However, you will not require this permit if you already have:

  • a commercial tour operator's licence
  • a filming and photography permit
  • an event licence
  • a scientific permit.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit, you must be a fit and proper person. This will be assessed according to whether you have had any similar permits suspended in the past, and whether you have been convicted of an offence relating to wildlife or the environment.

You may need public liability insurance to be eligible to conduct particular activities in a marine park.
