Description

You will need this licence if you intend to sell pharmacy medicine at a retail shop for the sale of goods in an area where there is no nearby pharmacy.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must operate a shop that is open for at least 38 hours per week. The shop must be either:

  • over 25 kilometres or more from the nearest pharmacy which is open for at least 3 hours daily
  • in a local community where there is a genuine need for a medicine seller.

You must also be a fit and proper person to hold a licence.
