Exploration Licence - South Australia


You will need this licence if you intend to explore for all minerals or opal.

Minerals include:

  • metallic minerals such as cobalt, gold, and silver
  • energy minerals such as coal or uranium
  • industrial minerals such as graphite, rare earth elements and salt.

This licence will not allow you to explore for extractive minerals.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Up to five years - generally granted for one year at a time, and may be renewed.
