Onshore Pipeline Licence - South Australia

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to construct or operate an onshore transmission pipeline. A transmission pipeline is a pipeline for conveying petroleum or another regulated substance from near its place of production to another place, or to a place where it is to be stored in a natural reservoir or a pipeline system for that purpose. This includes a part of a pipeline, tanks, machinery and equipment associated with the operation of a pipeline.

The licence will entitle you to operate and maintain the transmission pipeline to which your licence relates. If your licence is granted for a proposed transmission pipeline, you will be authorised under this licence to construct or complete the construction of the relevant pipeline. You may need additional authorisation if the relevant pipeline is located, wholly or partly, on a seabed within South Australian coastal waters or if the pipeline extends outside of South Australia.
