Passenger Transport Service Operator Accreditation - South Australia

Description

Operator accreditation is required by any person or company responsible for the operation of a passenger transport service. This includes:

  • the registered owner of one or more vehicles used for passenger transport
  • in the case of a company, each director and other interested persons.

You may apply for operator accreditation in any of the following categories:

  • metropolitan taxis
  • country taxis
  • large passenger vehicles (13 or more seats)
  • small passenger vehicles - chauffeur metropolitan
  • small passenger vehicles - rideshare
  • small passenger vehicles - chauffeur non-metropolitan
  • small passenger vehicles - chauffeur special purpose
  • motorbike
  • horse drawn.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this accreditation you must:

  • be the registered owner of one or more vehicles used for passenger transport
  • be the director of a passenger transport company or another interested person
  • have a National Police Certificate
  • hold current driver accreditation.

As an accredited operator you are responsible for insurance, plan of operation and vehicle inspections.
