Permit to Keep and Sell Protected Animals (Scientific / Biological Products) - South Australia

Description

You will need this permit to keep a protected animal to use for scientific purposes including research, or for purposes related to the production of biological products such as harvesting snake venom.

You will be authorised to breed protected animals that are being kept under this permit. To sell or give away animals they must have been in the permit holder's possession for at least 6 months.

To be eligible for this permit you must:

  • demonstrate experience in the handling of animals to which the permit relates
  • demonstrate an understanding of the species specific requirements of holding and caring for such animals.

You will need to meet separate criteria if you intend to access venomous snakes under this permit.
