Permit to Light a Fire on Council Land - Mid Murray Council - South Australia

Description

Persons wishing to light and maintain a fire in the open air during fire danger season may require a permit under the Fire and Emergency Services Act 2005. The permit does not authorise the lighting of a fire during a total fire ban. Persons intending to burn matter should contact the Council to ascertain whether a permit is required.

Disqualified persons or entities

You will not need this permit if you are lighting a fire in a place provided by your local council for that purpose, or in a portable barbeque, as long as the barbeque is used in an area that is clear of flammable material for a distance of at least four metres.
