Permit to Sell Protected Animals (Kangaroo Meat Processor) - South Australia


You will need this permit if you intend to keep and sell kangaroo carcasses and parts of carcasses as part of a business of kangaroo processing.

This permit will authorise you to trade in carcasses and parts of carcasses, including skins and parts for human and animal consumption, of the species of kangaroo specified on your permit.

You will need a separate permit to shoot and treat the skins of kangaroos as part of the kangaroo harvesting process.

You will need separate permits to import or export protected animals if you intend to trade in kangaroo products outside of South Australia.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit, you must:

  • meet the legislative and biosecurity food safety requirements
  • be a resident of South Australia and be the owner, managing director or public officer of the business to which the permit relates.
