Plastic Shopping Bag Ban - South Australia

Description

If you are a retailer, you must not provide a plastic shopping bag to a customer as a means of carrying goods they purchased, or will purchase. A plastic shopping bag:

  • has a body that contains polyethylene with a thickness of less than 35 microns
  • has handles.

The ban does not apply to:

  • biodegradable bags
  • plastic bags that are a key part of sealed product packaging.
