You must issue an electronic certificate of compliance (eCOC) if you have carried out plumbing work on a property.
You and any other contractor involved in the work, must both sign off on the eCoC. These certificates confirm that:
- the tradesperson is correctly licensed
- the completed work has been tested, is safe and meets the Australian Standards
- the contractor has informed you of any existing safety concerns.
An eCoC must be provided for:
- pipework and fixtures from the mains water supply or sewer
- sanitary plumbing and drainage
- installing or replacing a water heater
- work on a backflow prevention device
- installing an alternative water service
Certificates of compliance must be provided to your customer within 7 days of completing the work.
