Prawn Fishery Licence - South Australia

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to undertake commercial prawn fishing in the Gulf St. Vincent, Spencer Gulf and West Coast fisheries.

You will be authorised under this licence to take Western King Prawns from the fishery. You will also be authorised to take the following if these are taken in the same net as bycatch:

  • Balmain Bugs
  • Southern Calamari.

No new licences for fishing in the Gulf St Vincent, Spencer Gulf and West Coast fisheries are being issued. Licences are only available by transfer from an existing licence holder.

Licence holders are also required to register:

  • any boat or device used under this licence
  • a person as a master of any boat used under this licence.
