Registered Agents - Fair Work Act (SA) - South Australia


This registration permits the holder to represent litigants for a fee in any matter in the Industrial Relations Court or Commission of South Australia including Section 14 of the Act (claims for wages, salary or underpayment) and section 106 of the Act (harsh , unjust or unfair dismissals), and pursuant to Chapter 3, Part 2 (Enterprise Agreements).

Eligibility requirements

Legal practitioners who hold a practising certificate in South Australia are not required to obtain this registration.

Applicants must have:

  • extensive experience in industrial relations;
  • a high level of written and oral communication skills;
  • a sound understanding of the human, social and political factors which influence industrial relations;
  • experience in undertaking negotiations in the industrial relations field;
  • experience in appearing as an advocate before industrial authorities;
  • experience in the interpretation and implementation of awards, industrial agreements and industrial relations policies;
  • reasonable knowledge of the legislative framework within which industrial relations operate.
